It’s been a long time since I’ve written anything on this site…6 years it seems! I had the pleasure of writing the music to accompany the beautiful projection artwork, ‘Circles of Rhythm,’ as part of the VIVID festival in Sydney this year 2026, collaborating with Anna Fraser (thank you for asking me Anna!), Giles Westley and Julian Burgess. It was designed for the ASN building in Circular Quay and the projection explores pure design and mandalas that, for me, create a feeling of energy, wonder, transformation and uplifting beauty. Anna and I discussed some musical ideas before I began, and she mentioned she loved the monolina monochord I use in sound relaxation sessions, and I mentioned Alice Coltrane’s stunning harp playing. Composing to the images flowed easily, and the resulting music features monolina monochord, harps, strings, organ, voice, and synth.
